View Full Version : Antifreeze question
What types of radiator fluid is ok for a 85 Honda 250r. I'd like to just use something from an autoparts store if possible. I change my fluids quite often to keep the electrolosis down.
I use radiator fluid from the part store. Seems to work fine for me. 50/50 just like a car.

havoline dex cool is available at parts stores.
it is what GM vehicles call for. it is a extended life coolant.5 years /150,000 miles
it is formulated specificly to protect aluminum. other coolants work fine though. most of the regular green coolants claim to protect aluminum and i am sure they do a good enough job in most cases. but this dex cool is the best. it is orange color . the jug it comes in is black. but the coolant is orange.

I used just any old cheap autoparts store brand 50/50 water mixed antifreeze. It seemed to work fine.
