I just bought this pipe and silencer for my 84R. Can anyone tell me what I got. I got a good deal on it - and am replacing it for my stock one that I currently have on it. Plesae help me ID it. I hope someone can help me.

will I need to change jets or anything with this pipe swap? All intake components will remain the same - (Stock).

When I put my dg on my 84 i went up a jet size or two. You probably should too. Your pipe might be a bassini. I havent seen any other options for the air cooled. The factory pipes are way restrictive. You will notice a huge gain. I ran a k&n on mine and drilled a few holes on the top cover.

do you = yes

does everybody = no

will it hurt the engine = maybe

will it get full benefit of the new pipe if you don't = no

the thing will probably be a little lean if you don't rejet. maybe not enough to hurt anything but it might. and the thing will run better when jeted corectly

i think that is it. the name plate on the 2 stroke scilencer is smaller but it is the same color scheme and thick plate style i think that is it. i would bet mine says cofman also. cool thanks.

is this a rare desirable piece of 3 wheel racing history?

Tim, i'd swap to a bigger carb to complement that pipe. Look for a nice 34 or 36mm on ebay. I noticed a BIG power gain in my air cooler by swapping carbs.

what carb comes stock on and air fooler? What carb is a 34 or 36mm? 85 / 86 250R?

Thanks guys.

The aircooler has a 30 or 32mm. Can't remember which. The 85-up 250R's have 34mm carbs, 85's being roundslide the rest flat slides.
