The idea of going green, has been heavy on my mind for quite some time. What is the best way to get real world production numbers. If I make the switch, I would like to know what kind of challenges I am looking at. If I already did not have a very well stock piled Tri-Z collection, I would go ahead and make the switch.

well the t3's are abit more of a challenge to get parts for, but they are out there if you do yoru research and hunting. what kind of production numbers you looking for, the number of each year bike produced?

I am interested in their whole line up. Of course I would have a few T3's. But I am also interested in there other trikes. I especaily like the Duckster. If I do this, I am going to want at least one of each model. Just like my Yammi coolection.

Sooooo, how hard is it to find the other Kawi trikes and parts?

I liek the fact that they are not all over the place like my Yammis are. When I first started cleecting Tri-Z's no one knew what they were. Now I see them all the damn time. plus, I just like the Kawaski styling. I actually like their utility trikes.

If you go Green I call first dibs on a few select Yamaha parts you have! :D

As far as Kawi models, heres what I can think of off the top of my head

KLT110
KLT160
KLT200 with manual clutch
KLT200 Duckster (same as above but came from factory with cammo)
KLT250
KXT250A1 (84 Tecate)
KXT250A2 (85 Tecate)
KXT250B1 (86 Tecate)
KXT250B2 (87 Tecate)

I don't have any production numbers but I think for the most part they were pretty low...The 84-85 Tecates were probably the most popular model they sold I'd bet.

Now that is a good starting point right there.

I have not decided if I will combine my collection with Kawis, or start frsh with them. Either, you will get first dibs.

don't forget the 185 shaft drive
there are 5 variations of the klt 200 including the duckster + 4 colors red, black, and green and camo kick and electric start, cdi and points.
4 variations of the 250 KLT + 2 colors black and red one with points
185 and 160 both have 3 variations and 2 colors
110 has 3 variations and 3 colors
kxt has 4 variations + 2 colors red and geen as well as a prototype white fender in either 86 or 87

This is good. Keep the information coming.

By the way. There was also a KLT Police model. That will be my holly grail. Kawi made a few of these stricly for law enforcment agencies. I found out about them through an old Kawi dealer that is no longer around. The guy said he sold them and kept them maintained for the local Sherriff's Office. Does any body else know about them.

I've only seen one picture of them before. From what I could tell it was pretty much a KLT250 but had been decked out with a bunch of accessories

That about sums it up. I would love to get my hands on one of them. I wonder what happened to all of them.

Hope this isnt hijacking the post but after seeing the different models kawasaki produced I started thinking, did kawasaki ever make a mini trike? Like an atc 70 or a tri zinger? Or maybe even a prototype? Anyways, just popped into my head. I havent switched but I added Kawasaki to my collection with my 110, now I'm just looking for a green 2 stroke beast;)

I have never seen a smaller trike. I wonder if they exist.

There was 1 at an auction here 2 years ago but I didn't have enough $ to pick it up. It was all white with a built in trunk, red light mounted under the headlight and a baton holder on the right fork.

Did you happen to get a photograph of it? I have yet to see one in person.

A friend told me that both Dallas and San Antonio still have police klt's they use for parades as well as SAR around parks, E-bay had one go last year for 2700 that was from the Dallas PD i believe it was posted on this site as well

a dealer out of Garden city Mo sold the P model, they even had mods for carrying a billy club on the front forks
