The other day my dad was at the Arctic Cat dealer and he comes home and says that theres a couple 3 wheelers there but the guy that knows about them is only there friday saturday and sunday. So I called the guy up today and he says theres a 185 and a yamaha there if I haul them off there mine. We go down there with the truck and he comes out back and points to them. There was the 185 but it looked kinda weird and turns out it had a 200x front forks on it, so its like a 185x i guess. :wondering
There was also a 1982 Big Red frame with forks (almost perfect) that ive been looking for forever. (the only other one i can find in AK is at the junkyard for 200$) Took both of those without thinking twice. :w00t: There was also a 1984 125m (electric start) but it was siezed and plastics were non-existant, so i left it there for now. And there was a Yamaha 225 D?. It was blue plastics (no cracks but faded) but missing 2 wheels and the right side engine cover and various other things, so that was left for now also.
When I got home I tore into the 185x instantly. All tires held air. The guy said it turned over a while ago but it didnt now. I took out the sparkplug (with the help of a 6' breaker bar--yes it was that bad) and sprayed 1/2 a can of pb blaster down the cylinder and let it sit. There was 3x as much oil as there should have been in it, and it was jet black, but thankfully no water. I took off the pull start next, and discovered 2-3cm of ICE in the bottom of the flywheel. Stuck a hairdryer on that for a few minutes, and took a breaker bar to the nut there, and what do you know the motor spun over!!!!!! Just the ice was stoping it from turning, after wasting 1/2 can of pb blaster. :D Guess it was better then it being the piston.
I had to go get the on/off switch and the throttle off the big red frame to replace somebodys redneck job. Put in a new plug, and taped the plug wire to the coil, and after a while of cleaning the plug and spraying starting fliud i finally got it to run for a few seconds. I need to go get a real throttle, and clean the carb on monday, fix the pull starter, and find a valve cap.
The only bad thing is they tried to drive it through a tree or something  because the front fender is destroyed, the left foot peg is bent 90 degrees backward, there is a chunk missing from the left bottom corner of otherwise perfect plactics, there are a few fins missing from the cylinder, and the frame where the forks go through is bent 2" to the left, and the frame in front of the header pipe is creased inward about 25 degrees. People in my town are retarded.
Also I need to replace an exhaust stud. Once I remove it from the engine, do i just find a bolt that fits in it, or where can I find replacement studs?
:pics: if I ever find my camera.
