So I've been needing a new front tire on my ytm225dx, but I don't want to use a 22-11-8. I was going to use a 350x front wheel and tire with an adaptor, but I have been looking arround for something easier. I think I have found it. I have found a guy on ebay that sells a 10x5" front wheel for the Honda Odyssey, and it has a 3x100 bolt pattern. So, it should fit the ytm with a 3 bolt.

What do you guys think about this. Do you think it would work ok on the 225? Would anyone be interested in buying the other wheel if I bought the pair?

it says they have 2x3 offset...it would be better if they were 2 1/2 x 2 1/2

Why? The factory wheel is not centered.

Doughdog I have been thinking of this some omre. Are you still going to try it? A 5" wide front tire seems very narrow. If it was a 10x7 rim that would be perfect.

I am probably going to do it, but right now funds are low. I just bought banshee hubs, wheels, rear tires, tank shrouds, and a new headlight shroud for my trike.

I don't think the wheel only being 5" wide would be a problem, becuse the factory wheels are what 7" maby 8"? They have a 11" wide tire on them. So, what I'm thinking is a 21-7-10 front should work fine.

I was reading some older posts, and I did find a supplier with a nice 8" front tire. So, I'm thinking about that also.

D Dog , your front wheel is not centered ?
I don't own a 225dx but my friend I ride with has one and his is not
centered also .
We always wondered if this was a screw up or if this was how
it was designed .

I did some reading and it turns out the stock Odyssey (1977-81 Honda FL250) tire is 20x7x8 so it would work fine. Bikebandit.com has an ITP steel front rim for $28.30 (+$6 shipping). Next it to try and find it in aluminum.

Yeah, I knew the stock front wheel on the odyssey was a 8" rim. I don't think these wheels were spicificly made for the odyssey. I think the guy selling them just knows they will fit it.

On another note. I did find that the raptor 80 also uses the 3 bolt wheel, so ITP is making aluminum wheels in a 8" diameter for them.

That is the size rim that Bikebandit lists for the Ody and then they list that size tire too.

*edit*

Bikebandit list a 8x5 rim and 20x7x8 tire so I am saying that they must have come with a tire 2" wider then the rim from the factory.
