Another thing last night I noticed while working on my 350X (yes it was a bad night) was that I have a tiny half inch crack on the frame coming off one of my seat grommets in the rear. Seems very minor and it doesn't look structural. After searching the forums it appears very common, but should I be concerned?

not to big a deal. its the cracking around the swing arm mounts you have to watch for

yeah - no biggie - I can tell you this - when I first saw that mine was cracked there, I had it welded shut. less than 1 year later - yet another crack beside where it cracked before. This is a high stress point, but it is not a critical frame structure support. Keep an eye on it and see if it gets worse.

A freind of mine is a really good TIG welder and he said he could easily throw a beed on it and then touch it up with a little primer and some Rustoleum Sunrise Red and never worry about it again. I guess thats the only answer and then just watch it.
I personally think this is caused by loose motor mounts and the gobs of torque these 350X motors put out stresses the frames to the point of cracking. I only weigh 160lbs and never jump it. How else could my seat plate crack?
