hey guys, just bought an '84 yt 125 as a fixer upper. i don't know anything about it so could you possibly tell me about it, like: how fast does it go, is it reliable, does it have alot of power/torque,(maybe compare it to an atc110), etc. And also , correct me if i'm wrong but this seems alot different than a performance 2 stroke, do you know anyhting about that? (does it have a powerband?) it is currently not running but with a little help, i should have it going soon. got it for cheap, couldn't resist:TrikesOwn . please add any other various info that you know of. thanks!!!:D

I know this has been discused on the forums before. Do a couple searches of the forums like:
Yamaha 125 or Yam 125
and you should be able to find most if not all the info you need / want.

First off, Breakdown and buy a manual....Its the single best 20 bucks you will spend. Performance 2 stroke its dfinitely not....But then again ...Why would you want Hi Perf from an unsuspended Trike? Tons of fun.... GET IT RUNNIN.

oh! i will buy a manual eventually, but i was hoping someone could maybe compare this to one of the honda trikes. just because i have ridden most honda models.thanks

p.s. i just ordered a new gasket set for the top end and some piston rings because the compression was low, so hopefully that will help.thanks again!!!:D

Should be about even with a 185 to 200, simply because its a two stroke. Top speed wont be as good, but gears can fix that.
