I don't think that's feasable unless you bolt in a 200x motor. I believe they sell a braided steel cable to replace the rope.. Maybe check denniskirk website for something like that.

i have a cable on it now. its the guts that keep blowing out. that danm clip to be exact. im sick of taking it off to put stuff together again just for it to pop apart again.

also is there away i can put a tach on it? i know the sled tachs run off the lighting coil. but i have no clue how it could or if it would work on a trike.

Hmm, maybe just replace that clip. perhaps its wore.

Get a new E-clip, that should work, sounds like its worn out.Your best bet is to get the rebuild kit from Dennis Kirk. There is no way to put a kickstart on that trike unless you used a 200X bottom end, or whole motor.

ive put 3 total rebuilds in and 4-5 e clips. ive spent more on clips and rebuilds than i did for the trike.

i may look into getting a 200x bottom end

I believe that all of the cases are the same. It's just the starting that is diff. Even if you do put the 200x motor on it , I've heard that you can save on your kickstart by putting your head on it because it has comp release on it.

kool so this means i can keep my whole engine and crank and swap it onto the 200x bottom. am i rite ?

It would be easier and you would gain more power(200x is higher compression) from just using the complete 200x motor. It would save time and probably money to buy a complete motor.

i dont have 300.00 for an engine. i can get the bottom end for 80.00 shipped. i dont race with my trike i just go threw mud. i dont fly threw the mud either and withe a 9 tooth front sprocket i dont need tons of power.

No. You can use the whole 200s top end but very little of the bottom ends are the same. Your crank is longer to accommodate for the extra clutch. About all you could use from the lower end is the cam chain guides and some secondary clutch parts (maybe).

the crack is identical except for the clutch side. the connecting rod and flywheel side are identical. my brother stole those parts off a 200s crank for his 200x back in the late 80's it does work.

the main 2 center cases are the same also. we found this out when my brothers crank locked up and snapped the rod.

so dont question my athoriti:lol: like cartman says.

some clutch parts are the same.

yea i got a clymer book that greaks down the 200x and 200s trannys along with the 185s. i got looking and all i can tell that is diff on the 200x crank is 1 or 2 parts on the clutch. i think i may be getting a 200x bottom end. i will deffinetly be keeping in touch.

The trans is different too. I don't know if you can use the 200s trans. with the rest of the X parts or not but the transmissions are a little different.
