I own a 1981 Yamaha Tri-Moto with a 125 2 stroke engine. It is a really sweet ride. Put the other day i was pulling the engine the string broke and the engine sucked it straight back in. Now I have to roll start it and this is kind of annoying. I was wondering what i should do. Is it easier to pull the whole thing apart and get the string back out, or if you can install a kick start easily. Please help me.... You guys are the best.

Thanks,
Fablazer

if just the end broke off you can just take the assembly off.

them just try and turn it like your pulling it over and fish the rope back out threw the hole. when you have a bunch sticking out put a vise grip on the rope to keep it from going back in. just slid your handle back over the rope and tie a knot on it.

take the vice grip back off then it'll pull it back in and your good as new.

You will have to preload the recoil again.

If your rope is still good, take it right out. let the pully unwind completly, then turn it counter-clockwise 4 complete rotations, then slip the rope through and tie the handle back on, its super easy to do.

Happened to my buddy on my 200s, so I told him to make sure not to turn it off. I dont know how he managed to kill an autoclutch on those trails, but he did

From that point on I have remembered to wrap a strap around one of the bikes while riding.
