For those of you not following the durablue thread, here are the pics of my '85 350X after a few months of hard work and waiting on parts.
All I need now are to install the chain, and still waiting on one brake line banjo fitting.
Check out the website at web.ics.purdue.edu/~jsmorris for information and such about it as well as about 15 pics.
Hope you like it.

WOW that thing is nice. When you compress the front suspension does the brake line function right or does it kink into the front wheel? Nice work.

To answer some questions...
Yes, I have a lot of time invested, about 90 hours total, and a lot of money invested, about $1700 or so including the engine rebuild. Needless to say, the machine will never be sold.
The brake lines are SS with a clear coating on them. They are really nice. The front brake operates correctly, never getting in the way of anything at all. The front is a 350X specific unit. The rear is a custom length unit due to the different length requirements of the extended swingarm. They cost about $125 total. I got them from Motorcycle Goodies in California. They had the parts for a lot cheaper than buying from Russell direct. 1-888-252-2000 or www.motorcyclegoodies2.com Ask for Sharon and tell her Joel sent you.
The skid plate is my own homemade unit. I TIG welded it in a laboratory at Purdue University that I have access to. No, I will not build one for anyone else, unfortunantly. It is made of 0.25" 6061-T6 aluminum. I will be building a front unit sometime as well.
Thanks for the comments guys. I hope to have it broke in and ready to run on the 19th at The Badlands. :)

I just called them. If you are interested in the Brake lines you need the part number for the Russel lines.

Sorry about not being thurough on the answers. The whole bike is powder coated. Every colored piece is PC, save for the rear spring, and some other obvious ones. Thanks for the comments guys. I will be riding it, but probably not through much mud or anything. It is built to take whatever I can throw at it, with the good finishes and the gusseted frame.
John, you say "ATC cover"? I might be interested in talking her into making one for me, too. Maybe a small business before she knows it! The tank on my X is a homemade unit from a lady on ebay. It is white vinyl and has the wings stitched into it. I like it alot, especially since it is the same color as the plastics.

You guys should see it out in the sunlight... If you think it looks good in his garage, it looks even better outside. :-D Joel, my brother, another friend, and I went to the Badlands this past Saturday where his newly restored 350x made its first appearance.
It is truly a badass trike now... I'll let Joel tell you guys all the details. :)
