hi there, i havent got any lights on my triz but would like to get hold of some originals, i can source them but would need some help with the understanding of wiring them up, other than being without lights the Z is completely standard

what im after is info on how i can connect the lights, battery and switchgear up together, will the battery charge while the engine is running,

winters on its way in the UK and it will soon be dark at 4pm which makes riding after work a bit difficult, fun but difficult :naughty: , as ive found with friends,

many thanks

On the 3WW homepage, there is a link to the right hand side that says SPECIFICATIONS.Click that and then go to wiring diagrams. There is a color coded wiring diagram for the TRI-Z.Yellow and green are hot and black is your ground.Make sure you have your voltage regulator hooked up.It is on the right side of the bike just behind the forks. There should be a silver box with one blue wire coming out.If it is not there, you will blow your bulbs out.Banshee, and blaster use the same style regulator.

james, you need lights from a 200 kawi bayou 220 four wheeler, they are the same as the z, mount the same, and use the same plugs, plus they cost less new

hey jleggz.if you run into a hard time gettin lenses and such, drop me a p.m. i can probably help you out.and Raffa is correct, any older warrior with stock square headlites, will work.electrical sockets bulbs and lenses will all "bolt right up".i think they came on 87-89 warriors.maybe even 1990 years also.

87 warrior light assm. $27.07 new
86 tri z light assm. $68.71 new
the only diffrence is the warrior has a 25W bulb,, but the z's 30w bulbs will fit.

89 kaw bayou 220 assm. $138.57 new
bulb plug is diffrent and harness plug so it would have to be hard wired
The lense is the same shape but will need the plug.

I use new 2002 220 bayou lights on my Z and they bolted right in. They were half the price of new Z lights.

:wondering I just used the lenses from the kawi and the Z harness. I couldnt stand the yellow faded lens anymore. The new lenses look like glass.:pActually, there is a trick to restoring the old faded lenses.i did it on my tri-z.and warrior faded lenses get about 10-15 bucks a set on dweeb-bay.

And what is that????:naughty:First, get a foam baby bottle brush at wal-mart(make sure it is foam like a sponge.)Do not use the bristle type. Then wash the inside of the lenses with dish soap and the brush.use the brush to scrub all areas of the inside of the glass. Then let everything dry,and apply a little windex inside the lenses and re-use the baby brush to clean the lenses.Make sure the foam brush is dry at this point.Next, use 3-m polishing compound and a clean soft rag to buff the outside of the lenses. The same polish compund that Chainsaw uses for the final buffing stages of his plastic renew tips.It worked awesome for me and mine were even oversprayed with paint.I am not sure if it will make areal super cruddy lense look new,but mine were pretty bad.Actually,Mrs.Moshman found this little trick for us.It took a few hours, but in the winter time, what else is there to do?As your lenses become dirty and scratched up,you can re-buff as needed on the bike.

hey mosh is the plug the same on the warrior???
did that plug for the z go right on the bayou houseing???the sockets from the warrior fit right in.I am pretty sure that you will have to cut the warrior ends off and transfer Z plugs to them,or vice versa.whatever you prefer to do.The warrior ends used individual plugs, like a banshee,as were the Z uses a rubber one plug connector.

I dont have any before pics, but the were grey and dull and scratched and oversprayed.here is how they will turn out.
