I posted a thread a little while back about my 85 200X having a hard time idling when it got hot. I read a few posts and it sounds like a chronic problem with this trike.
Anyway as I went through checking everything all was well except for the valve adjustment. The front valve was adjusted correctly but the rear valve was tight at TDC. I simply adjusted this valve and it made all the difference in the world. I still had to play around with the pilot screw a bit, but once warm it really idles nice. I actually had to turn the motor off by using the switch for a change.
The down side is that it's harder to keep running when it's cold. I have to baby the gas until the motor is hot. But I had rather do that than have to restart when warm.
Anyone seen results like this? additional advice?
