View Full Version : Z head gasket..

Is there anything that crosses over for a Tri-z head gasket? YZ? And if you torque down the stock one[or any one], can it be reused if it wasn't run? Or is it garbage because it's a crush gasket? I'm assuming it is, but I want to make sure. Thanks.

yes there is a yz gaskit that will work it's a fiber gaskit I have both and they are the same shape. Ill try to get the # for ya later today, and pics. right now i got to get to work.

ok hear take a look one pic is the oem on top of the yz and the other is the yz on top of the oem... the yz gaskit # is 24Y-11181-00 hope that helps.. the year of the yz has sliped my mind right now, but im shure Ill be thinkin about it all day.:lol:

83 yz was a o ring motor
84-85 was a fiber gaskit motor powervalved 250k,250L
86 they went back to o ring motors

the heads will work also the hose hook up is slightly diffrent in the front ;)

Thanks Bryan! I only have a couple of weeks to straighten out my leaking head and break-in the engine before we hit Silver Lake. This problem is drivin me nuts! I have new head studs and gaskets ordered already. All help is greatly appreciated!

your welcome... further inspection on bike bandit the 84 and 85 have diffrent # so there not the same.... so use that # that i gave you.. its the right one..thats a yamaha # not a bikebandit #;)
