I had no luck in a search...
What would be the best at flushing a rear diff on an 86 250? There isnt any fluid in there, its more like a brown buildup about the consistancy of wip cream.
TIA~

^^ exactly what he said. If it's bone dry now, you might put rear end oil in it and roll it fwd and bkwd a few feet to get the gears lubed up and drain it and fill it back before you ride it. I just had to get water out of mine, so I went and got a cheap quart of gearoil, and used about the whole quart in a week, I flushed and filled so many times. I tonly hold about 3 1/2 oz so a quart will last a while.

It was so bad the drain plug hole was stopped up. I had to use a screw driver to get things moving so itd drain. With the plug out, I just poured about 1/2 qt of 20-50 through there and when it mixed and drained out the milky crap, I filled with 80-90 gear oil. Im going to drain and refill a few more times. Thanks!

What kinda condition is the trike in? What plugged it up? Rusty watery junk? Good luck getting it back running good. Is this a 86 SX? Are the 85 250ES and 86 250SX rear diffs the same? I have an extra, if you can't get it going.

Oh, it wasnt anything Id expect from a neglected trike, just wear and tear. The trike is in really good shape, just need plastics. Anyway, I appreciate the help. :beer
