OK, this thing is starting to pizz me off. It's an 81 ATC200 that the spark disappeared on. I checked the source coil (behind the flywheel) and when I spin the motor with a drill, it puts out between 5.7 and 6.2V. I bought a brand new CDI and it made no difference. Stuck another ignition coil on it, again still no spark. Now, I swapped the pulser coil with another borrowed one and what do you know, I am now getting a REALLY weak spark now. So I stick the original ignition coil back on and again, I get no spark. Same thing when I put the old CDI back on.
Is 6V about right for the source coil? It doesn't make sense to me that the CDI, pulser coil and ignition coil all have to be changed only to get an anemic spark. Makes me wonder if it insn't generating enough voltage into the CDI to get good spark.
Any suggestions????:(
