350x carb troubles and info

what is the deal with the crazy screw on the bottom of the carb with the thing that goes upderneath to the other side of the carb where you can turn it in and out, what is that thing and hwere should the screw be? is the other screw at the bottom of the carb the mixture screw? what else is there.

my 350x runs intermediatly, and i tried to climb up a hill at spinreel and it pop'd and backfired and died.

also, the guy i bought this 350x from put his own backyard style kill switch on it, and i dont trust it, cause now im not getting spark.

should one wire from the kill switch go to ground and the other to the ignition?

how does the kill switch work on a 350x?

there should be one scrw aat the front of the carb and the other is your idle. A good starting point for the a/f screw is 1.5 turns out, then screw it in till it breaks up and screw it out till it breaks up. Then find the middle.
