Hello. I have an 85 Honda 250R.

A couple of months ago, I blew the engine. The piston, crank, rod, are all bad. I want to fix it, but because I go to college and pay rent and tuition, I don't have the money I used to have.

I want to buy a crank on E-bay, but I was wondering if I do, will I have to balance the crank?

I'm not sure if I should buy each piece, the crank and the rod, or together. Also, could I put a 4mm longer rod with a spacer, or should I save that for later.

Thanks.

Quite frankly, I wouldn't mess with a used crank...you can find a brand new crank for under $200.

nothing wrong with rebuilt cranks, a local shop should be able to pressit apart and balance it pretty cheep

You dont balance Bike cranks, you true them, And I woudlnt bother with a Ebay Crank, 10:1 says the Rod bearings are Junk, Just buy the 100$ wiseco Hot-rod kit and have it rebuilt, will save you lots of hassle.
