I just picked up a 200s that I believe has a dead stator in it. I used the ohm meter and got nothing for resistance. I pulled the flywheel made sure the wire to the stator had cont. and it did. I should be installing the new one tommorrow, anyway just what kills these things? Jim

Vibration is often what kills the kawasaki stator. I'm not sure if it's the same for Honda. I never had a Honda one go bad on me.

200s has a recoil startor. If startor coil dirt, and water.

well i just bought a 6 dollar soldering iron and installed the stator. It fires right up! found out the intake is cracked so its gotta come off and it looks like plastic so Im thinking jb weld. It idles with the choke on, but Im thinking its got a severe vacuum leak with the crack. I'll probably clean the carb, since its going to be off the motor anyway. Gotta love these old trikes though. theres no telling when the last time its ever run. I think the kid I got it from was ready to junk it. Jim
