When I put my new basket and clutch in, I had to adjust the clutch cable all the way out on engine and at the clutch lever.
I noticed the clutch rod had a concave in the end that the ball presses against like the ball bearing wore in it. Is this supposed to be this way or is it supposed to be flat? I did not notice in lifter if it is worn or not.
Does the release arm wear out also?

Nope. Using stock. I need to get an update kit I suppose. Will this fix the max'ed out cable adjustments?

I'm not sure, I have a list of things I need to order for my '86 R and was just going to do it through service honda if I could get the part number for the clutch update kit
