Is it worth putting nerf bars on a trike? Im not too worried about them but was wondering how much safer it is. I have a pair on my quad and they have saved me many times. so are they worth it?

Some here run them some dont. I know some arguements for nerfs are-
when racing keeps people from getting tangled
look cool as hell
some bad points-
I think I heard/say derrick say that if you ride bush they are pointless cause they get caught up on stuff.
Im planning on getting some for sure!

My $.02...definately helps prevent running over your own leg (if you put it down). The reason I decided not to was pointed out by someone, if you got no reverse, it makes it a lot more difficult to use your legs to push you back unless you dismount...

Why would you put your legs down while your riding a trike??? :wondering
Anyway if you do get nerf bars, be sure to get the triangular ones, sqaure nerfs look retarded on a trike......

The purpose of nerfs is to keep bikes from getting tangled while racing, and to protect the legs of the rider from incoming wheels while racing. Their only purpose is to protect you from other bikes. They are for protection of bike to bike contact only. They are not to keep you from putting your feet on the ground. Thats what foot pegs are for. If you do not race flat track or MX or some other type racing where contact frequently occurs, then they are of no use whatsoever. For trail riding, they are a nightmare.
