Is there a difference? Can I put a rear sprocket off an 86 on a 85 350X?
Thanks,

the 85/86 are different....86 sprocket has countersunking where the mounting bolts go.....to convert a 85 to a 86 you need to find the countersunk bolts and nuts....then it will work otherwise your chew the carrier up.......

any honda dealership will have them. I have the 86 carrier and sprocket set up on my 85. It is good to do this because 86 carriers are the same as 250X 300EX and 400EX carriers good aftermarket availability.- 85's are not the same.

I had the same problem with my 85 250r. I had to buy the bolts at service honda and they cost me around 31$ shipped. :(

i have a 86 rad bearing carrier on my 85 350x....the countersunk nuts and bolt are expensive...i went to the local hardware store and found some bolts with smaller heads...the heads are about half the height of the stock 85s...if you do this take you old bolts with you and make sure you are getting smaller heads...and get stainless steal grade 8
