will the brake calipers off a 200x front and rear work on a 250r?

the 82-4 250R's brakes are the same as the 83-5 200X's calipers for the front. the mounting brackets are the biggest difference

well im looking at picking up a 84 250r, needs front and rear brake calipers
i have a 200x parts bike with both.
you are saying they are pretty much the same but won't bolt on?

the calipers themselves are the same. its the bracket that is used to bolt it to the fork is different. so to use a 200X caliper on an 84R, you need to get a hold of an 84R caliper mounting bracket and put it together with the X caliper. no mods, direct bolt on. you may even try to bolt the X bracket to the R forks and see if it will work. the 83-4R brackets might be the same as the 83-5 X brackets

I used a 86 200x caliper on a 84 250r front end, without doing anything, unbolting it, and boltiing it back on 84r forks. I didn't change the brackets, maybe 83-85 was something different??
