I'b be careful with the 330's though.......... You may not have to do any case machining, but there are other sacrafices they make in order to call it a "bolt on kit"...... Ask Billy Golightly for details, he explined it to me and I decided on a 310 kit.......

If you want the absolute best I'd say ESR, no matter what size big bore you go with. There also not cheap.....

the main problem is lack of overbores due to the machining of the cylinder, sleeve, and piston needed to make it a 'bolt on'

also the "bolt on" 330 requires a 87-89 250r rod. I have a esr one and it requires it. I think there is 2 overbores with it, no more. mine is on the first overbore.

Yeah i would go eather CT or ESR on the 310 kit, Anythig over 310 i would go with CT. For some reason every time i get a cylinder from CT it somes with awesome porting. Im not saying that ESR isint good im just saying that CT has been good to me so far. IF you do want to go big then you should get a Polanda 400 cylinder. Polanda cylinders are really fun:naughty:

i'm working on a drag trike but don't want to go 500cc so i can play in many class.

hey Psychotrike9, this polanda cylinder kit looks like a good alternative vs the sabertooth cylinder kit.

For those who want some info on this Polanda Kit here we are :

Quote :

Current displacement ranges from 389cc’s to the latest generation of Polondas at an astounding 440cc’s. The 389cc variant utilize the stock Polaris piston at 83mm’s, whereas the 440cc variant that has been built uses a Yamaha YZ490 piston at 89mm’s. Currently Dave is researching using the new Aaen piston which is 91mm’s, which would take the displacement out to 490cc’s on the stock stroke! ...

mp has a kit where they mate a 400 cc polaris jug on the honda bottom end. anyway it makes 90 hp on gas and 115 on alky.

Another one :

As you can see in the pic, the cylinder gets a lot of reinforcing. You have to mfg both intake and exhaust manifolds. The cases have to be bored (like you would for a ESR 350 cyl) to fit the BIG sleeve (85mm piston), then you either have to machine the cylinder or re-locate the base studs (the Polaris cyl is very close to the same pattern as the Honda). The advantage is the stroke for both the Honda and Polaris are the same, so port timing is a beautiful thing. Parts (piston, head gasket, intake gasket) are very reasonably priced from the dealer.

To do one of these conversions runs around $3k with new clutch, case labor, bearings, seals, cyl, head, etc. You only need supply a larger carb and a pipe that can handle the amount of exhaust pressure and volume. I use the keihen 39-41.5mm and I like the ESR TRX 5 or 11. The motor you see install put out 63hp and 51 ft lbs of torque and runs like a 4 stroke,,,lug it down and romp on it.
