Okay, I just started tear down a few days ago. Tonite, I pulled the motor, and other parts to get to this.

My lowrider!!!! :naughty:

This week I want to get the frame and misc. to blasting and powder coating, then all I need is some new gaskets, and the rest of my new parts-then put her back together.

Anybody out there with photoshop care to entertain a couple of ideas I have been throwing around??

I want to check the following picture with a white frame, and a black frame.

I really appreciate it if anyone can take the time to do it.

I actually like it like that. White looks classy.

Mine.

I was told thats the actuall bore of the Z.

Found that its bored over .8 to 253!

That makes me happy. The guy I bought it from told me it was bored, jetted, and had race reeds. Its not jetted, has stock reeds.

At least its bored. Before it goes back together, it gets power reeds, and a new jet!

Im excited.

I just picked up some ITP polished rims for the Z, and am entertaining some ideas for tire size.

I thought about going with some 22" ITP Holeshots, but wonder if that will upset my speed to much.

Should I stick with the 18" ITP's that came with the bike, some 22's, or some 20" Holeshots????

Thanks in advance for any input.

Eric

20's or 22' would give you more ground clearance for the trails

So your saying .800 or almost 13/16ths (.8125) of an inch?? Or .080 or 80 thousandths of an inch......

My bad, still learning about bores, and what not.

Its bored 2mm over std, or .080" taking the displacment to 253.

If your used to running 18inch tires on it, switching to 22's will make it handle alot differently. Make it want to tip more.

Actually a 2mm Over bore will make it 261.69 cc's from my calculations. haha

Bore - 70mm
Stroke - 68mm

(pi * (bore /2) ^2) x stroke
(pi * 3.5cm^2) x 6.8cm

=261.69cc's

Im pretty damn smart, trust me

I have only had about three good rides on the machine, so I dont even know it yet. It already bucked me off once, thats why Im converting back to a thumb throttle. I was doing a donut, and the power band kicked in, lifted the front, I feel back which fed it more throttle and the thing did a backflip with me on it. Handle bars snapped! Had to ride a mile back to the truck holding what was left of the bars and the clutch in my hand.

Im just not a fan of twisters, because I am very use to thumbs. I put a twist on my warrior a little while back, gonna change that back too. So if anyone is interested in one of my two twisters, I will hook you up for the cost of shipping.

I think I might go with a set of 20" 's, We will see. I will unvail the completed project within the next week or two. :w00t:

I wouldnt even try to ride a Z with a twist throttle LOL! I had a slightly sticky thumb throttle and that was scary enough.

BTW Yamahauler can work out rocket science equations, in his head, in 0.0002 seconds precisely! Hes damn clever

I like twisty's on the 2 strokes,.....i hate riding banshee's witht thumb on em...dont feel right.

ATC-Eric

What made the twist really scary was the combination of a dirty carb, and a blown head gasket! It would choose when it wanted to just go balls out.

What equation do I need worked? Tires?

Going with a YFZ color scheme I see. That will look nice. Do you have black plastic for the rear? If so would you mind setting it on there and taking a photograph. I was thining about biulding an all black Z and that would gie me a good idea as to what it will look like.

You know..... for the test run I will be putting the old plastics back on it. This will just be one ride. I dont get all of the parts till next week, so I dont want to put everything on it just yet.

The old plastics are black, so I can show you a picture of an all black Z. The old plastics arent great, but you'll get the idea. Stay tuned!

Im really happy with the kit, everything is nice and labled to make it easy. It does not include the swing arm bolt, I am just going to polish and reuse mine.

At the bottom of the auction there should be a list of stuff not included. I cant tell you how good they are yet, I havent started to assemble.

I cant wait, picked up the last of the engine parts today, and pick up the powdered parts tommorrow, so there should be finished picks, acompanied by action pics by Sunday.
