Isn't your 250R an 85 though??? 85 swingers were a little different. The 86 swingers are just a little eiasier to work on.... No worries though, if you have an 86 swinger you can mount it on an 85R same as an 86R.....
And BTW what type of fenders do you have on your 250R???? Are those the Maier low profile???

yes it is an 85. But I bought a 86 carrier,axle,sprocket,and what I thought was a 86 swingarm.
I do believe the fenders are maier, they were on it when I bought it 18 years ago.

Hey Nate, Burgard is some of the best parts out there among others. What Burgard did there was eliminate that small steel bushing so all that is needed is the bearing. Measure one of those ends for me and I will cut you some new replacement bushings and have them in the mail tomorrow morning. I just need the overall length. PM me your address again along with the length.

but what about the shock mount being back about an inch, and should I just drill and tap a new hole for my chain slider.

Call Burgard 717-225-6234 they probably have their own chain slider for thier swingarms or they can tell you which one fits it. Your R will sit lower with that swinger but you can either get an adjustable strut or make one to bring it back up to stock height. Thats a $500 swinger, you sure you want to be drilling holes in it?

I'll call them tomorow. I'd hate to drill on it, but if I have too I will. might have to weld some new skidplate mounts also.

An aftermarket skid should bolt right up to that, maybe ask them about that to when you have them on the phone.

Your going to need a '86 and newer brake stay and caliper mount, if you have an '85.
Hey Nate! The skid plate mounts look like they are for an 88-89r. Make sure to ask them about that when you are on the phone with them. You can send the dimensions between the mounting tabs to me and I'll check them against an 89 skid I have here.
