Basket, you should rebuild the 250r...they are great machines and have plenty of room to build it up more. I'll have mine running again in a month or two once i get the time and the spare cash...can't wait to get riding it again.

I like the black 250r, its pretty sharp..never seen a liquid one done like that.

That Black R is extremely slick. My 500X will have a similar color scheme when its done.

the sad part is that i have all of the parts to fix the engine. it started burning tranny fluid and fried the clutch by the time the bike was back at the camp. the tranny may be tore up but i have a couple spares. I need a 86 cdi and a pipe to finish it. with the topend porting, 265cc, 40mm carb and cool head i am looking at some big $$$$ for a good pipe and silencer. i had a fmf on it before but i want more topend. i am looking at the ESR pipe or a custom pipe. thanks for the encouragement 8)

Het 200, Stout gave me the low down on 250sx. What an trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro. Anyways get that thing back together. I spent most of the day swapping frames. I have about three more hours before I am done. I will have to go to another job within the next month, month and a half. Get that thing going so we can ride before I leave.
I ordered all new plastic, chain roller, outwearers, swingarm skid plate, and new headlight shell. Once I get the plastic I am going to put some silver and blue flames on it and then I am about done with the R. I have some minor things left, but the big money items are all done. Except I too am thinking about an ESR pipe. I don't know yet. Anyways get going we are getting together next weekend to go riding.

lookin4trikes, where did you get the black gas tank for your R? I am thinkig of doing a color scheme similiar to yours with my R.

P.S. also, where did the black tank shrouds come from?

Hey 250, I painted the tank. You can use flex additive to the paint and it works just fine. I used acrylic enamel. The shourds came from www.rockymountainatv.com it is about the cheapest place I have found. There are a lot of other colors too. Blue, silver, yellow, etc. Let me know if you have any trouble finding some. You can also go to maier's website, but they are more expensive. That is where I ordered my black headlight shell.
