200x 3rd gear question

On my 83 200x it shifts from neutral to 1st 2nd just fine sometimes it will go into 3rd but it kinda clunks, if you shift into 4th it goes away, or back down to 2nd it goes away. Sometimes it wont make anynoise at all and just rides fine. Is this something that happens to these things? thanks Jim

Yep, bent shift fork. I've got the same problem with my 250SX's transmission, 3rd gear is not even there- kind of like neutral between 2nd & 4th gears. Good luck.......

Does this mean bad? or just live with it, I drove it around and just shifted from 2nd to 4th and had no problem. Is it going to get worse? and I guess is it hard to fix? thanks Jim
