Got the rim I bought from Howard polished up to replace the gold rim (gotta match the polished rims on the paddles you know) and got the crusty looking dinged up forks blinged out. :w00t:

Got some new evo grips in today too. Next up, painting the hubs.

Dune season is coming! :Bounce

No way. I don't have the equipment to get results like that. The forks were in pretty rough shape so I took the stuff to a pro. The rim I probably could have done myself but it doesn't cost a ton to have an already polished part touched up so that was a no brainer. The forks cost a little bit though because of the shape they were in to start with.

I still don't have my compressor wired up so I can't powdercoat yet (and I may be moving so I might have bought all that stuff for nothing). I'm just going to rattle can and clearcoat the front and rear hubs and see how long it lasts. I think it'll be ok on the front but I bet the rear hubs get sandblasted pretty quick.

My local shop told me 70 bucks out the door for a new one. This is a used one though. I got it from a board member.

$60 out the door for all three pieces. Would have been less if the forks were in better shape. More than I wanted to spend but it beats doing it by hand which is my only alternative right now. Wouldn't look near as good either. You have to see it in person to really appreciate it.

You're not going to turn into one of those obnoxious buggy owners we all hate are you?

First ride is tentatively scheduled for October 26th - 28th possibly at Buttercup by the way.

Your trike is going to look GREAT!!!!!

You mean change my status from :banned: "one of those obnoxious trike owners we all hate?":banned: .....NEVER

Can't make that date...been running a haunted house for 7 years with the local high school drama club...were going to G Dubya the week after....

Buttercups real tight on big weekends....don't know if there's enough room for you to twist the "R"...(sucker eats up alot of dunes)... you might bump into "Enigma", he's a regular there ... (T3 w/white seat)...keep a lookout

Dying to see the "R" with "fresh" bling installed:pics: :pics:

I don't think I can swing two weekends in a row but I'm sure I'll hook up with you at GW at some point soon. I like it there. It's a quicker drive than Glamis.

In other news...

The rattle canning of the hubs didn't pan out so well because I can be kind of an idiot sometimes so they're going to the powdercoater tomorrow.

Parts back from the powdercoater! :pics:

Got several more major pieces of bling on the way. CNC billet parts, custom seat and shock covers courtesy of the Moshman's (the seat is going to rule), some carbon fiber, custom decals on the way from Harlan... w00t!

And the best part is that I really haven't been spending all that much money on any of this stuff yet. :p

Got the '86 T3 Westcoast at the powdercoaters right now along with a couple of parts for the Tri-Z too. :naughty:

Sweet! Its the little stuff that makes the biggest difference. You need chrome D-bars!

Dammit!

And the blingification continues!

Carbon fiber has replaced my diamond plate number plate backgrounds on the rear fenders. Looks really cool in person. Looks like black from more than 6 feet away but shinier than normal black vinyl. Kinda has a chrome effect.

Got the powdered parts installed along with the freshly polished front rim and forks.

Trick billet fork caps courtesy of our own Hey Ron Racing (Yamahondaman).

Still lots more going to happen in the next month or so. :w00t:

Looking good, when you going to give some love to the 200X?

I still get a part for it here and there. I need a swingarm with solid skid plate mounts. I haven't found a decent one for cheap yet. Found a couple real nice ones but the price tag was always more than I could spend on the thing at the time so still keeping an eye out for one. It's a low priority to say the least. Might take me another two years to finish but it will definitely be given a second lease on life.

The Tri-Z is going to be getting some attention soon. Not much in the bling department. Just gonna get it running solid and (hopefully) reliable so I have a decent back up trike for this coming dune season.

It is hard to have a nice trike in the south. The mud and clay keeps them nasty. I am looking forward to a cleaner enviroment.

My TRX250R has chrome A arms they look bling bling spiffy too bad the guy that had them chromed didnt have money left over to replace the BAD bushings.

It also has a bling bling chromed shifter, too bad the moron chromed a shifter that had bad splines on it, I bought a new one and tosses it in the trash, "it sure looks good setting their" LMAO

It also has a bling bling carbon fiber tank cover, chrome homo steering stem and chrome tie rods but the intake manifold has a big cut into it and was sucking air, had money for the carbon fiber but no money for a intake manifold, oh the UNI filter was falling apart too.

It has a chrome bling homo chromed up rear axle, hubs, nuts, brackers you name it, looks darn good I can comb my hair using its mirror finish but all the rubber seals that keep the crap out of the bearings and adjuster are rotted up junk.

The frame and swing arm was "powder coated"

I have more examples that go into the inside of the engine where the money should have been spend but I think you get the picture.

I sure hope your smater than the bling bling moron was that owned my TRX LMAO.

Oh, and i want some of those fork caps! whats the price tag?

The ones in this thread I got from Yamahondaman. You'd have to ask him about the price. They're pretty sweet. Pretty much an exact match to the original plastic ones and will fit either a 85-86 R or a 86 Z. I think he can do 85 Z also.

I also have these coming from Speedbump (http://www.3wheelerworldforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=33497&d=1159144678). You can see more of that stuff here (http://www.3wheelerworldforums.com/showthread.php?t=55752&page=5). Custom engraving!
