Yet Another Tire Size/Gearing Question Thread

I currently have 22" tires on the 83 R with a 12 tooth front sproket and stock rear sprocket. I will be switching to 18" turf savers and was wondering what size front sproket I should go with so I dont notice the drop in top speed as much? Any direction would be great, Thanks.

I would say a 14T. On my 400EX, I change the front sprocket 1 tooth when going from 20's to 18's and vice versa. Keeps the speed about the same. You might need a 14 and 2 teeth smaller on rear to keep top speed the way it is now, if that's what you're looking to do.
