CHAD-98

I picked up a 1986 honda 125m the other day for $150. It is complete, and runs. But the past owner thought there was a carb leak, and removed the carb, and airbox. I removed the carb, rebuilt it with a rebuild kit, and now it runs great.
Problem is... I am not sure that he replaced the carb to cylinder mounting adapter correctly. It is angled, and at the angle that it is right now, the air intake side of the carb will almost hit the frame. (No room for an air filter.) Can I reposition this adapter, or will that mess with float level?
I wish honda stamped a "this side up" into the adapter... lol
Any help would be great.
