How much harder is it to find parts for a 86 200x than a 85 250r? I mean like the parts that will possibly go bad, engine parts, bearings, sprokets, finders, etc etc.
I am thinking about selling the R, the EX, the Bayou, Blaster and then getting an 86 200x and putting a down payment of about $5800 on a brand new 450r, lt-r450, or a dirtbike.
Need input on parts availability! Thanks!

Also how about kick starter parts and things like that?
And what all swaps off of other trikes? I dont want to have something stupid break and be screwed.

no kick start is fine. fenders are maier. engine is good in them and wiseco makes pistons. Its not hard to find parts i dont believe. The only harder to find part is tank and shrouds. a stock 83 84 250r axle works on it and is a +4 i belive

I've been restoring my '86 for about 2 months now and I've had no trouble finding parts....Keep checking Ebay thats the best bet for finding cheap OEM stuff.
Cragsters the man, he gave me a lot of good info...Thanks again

Save your money on the new quad and buy a Cannondale... there should be plenty around your neck of the woods... Here is mine... It is a Moto I bought from a collector up that way (NE), ridden less than 2 hours.... Full Ohlins shocks with dual rate springs and 3 way adjustable piggybacks on the front. 3 way adjustable out back. +4 adjustable rear axle stock. +2 front A-arms. Stainless braided brake lines throughout (brakes/clutch). Ohlins adjustable steering dampener. Galfer Wave brake rotors throughout. ITP wheels with holeshots... This was all stock... and they are still winning races!

Sell the '85 R and buy a '86 200x????? I agree sell the other stuff but why would you buy a '86 200x. The '83 - '85 200x has full parts interchangablity with the XR200. You can still get every engine part you would ever need.

Honestly, The bayou is my uncles. And he likes trikes now, so we would trade up, he would get the 200x and I would get the bayou to sell.
I have come to my senses though and ill keep the R and probably the 400ex too.

They stopped making Cannondales because of poor financial backing. Chainsaw has more info on this... There is nothing wrong with them. They had a couple run ins with bad vendor Q&A on their parts, like crankshaft parts, but once that is squared away they are fine. My friends and I have 8 between us, and will be at Sand Mt. Nevada this winter to play... There is a reason they are still winning..

it doesn't help that cannondale had some early problems with the motors, alot of them motors grenaded. I personally never liked how they handle, it seams they are alittle twichty.
