Alright guys, I'm at the end of my rope here so I think I need some expert advice. I am having a problem with the pullstart mechanism on my Honda 1982 110 ATC. Everytime I pull on it a few times, the Throw out Dogs and the dog return springs sling out all over the place. As you can imagine this is a bad problem. I have become quite the expert at removing the pullstart and putting it back together. I have replaced the throwout dogs, the return springs, the friction plate, put a longer rope on and replaced the friction plate spring. Any help you guys could give me would be great. Thanks:wondering

Sounds like the pulley is broken. I have seen a lot of these break in the middle. Look for cracks in the housing / pulley where the ratchet dogs fit. You will need to pull the cir-clip, copper washer, and the big retainer plate to inspect it. More than likely you will find cracks in the center of it. If you have cracks you will need to find a replacement. I probably have 20-30 ( or more ) cracked ones here in a box just wating for a easy way to fix them. Yea, it's a common problem.
