question regarding fork extensions that came with my $45 185....

The old timer I bought this "engineless" 185s from handed me a bunch of spare parts along with what he said were "fork extensions". What are these and what is the advantage of mounting them on the forks? Bit of a newbie question I guess :wondering

if they are hondaline good score those are pretty cool i have a set on my 84 110 !they make it handle a lilbit better
