Did DG make a aluminum swingarm for the early 250Rs? Does anyone have a picture if they did?

Ya, that's why I'm asking. I am now the owner of that one:Bounce . It's actually the first DG swingarm that I have ever seen. I have a couple of old 3-wheeling magazines from 1985, but none prior to 1985. In the ones that I have there's three page ads, but they never mention swingarms.

Dammit!

DG did make swingers for the early R's. If I had a scanner I could post the ad form my 83 Dirtwheels.

It will be taken care of, right along with my Westcoasts. If you look at my 1982 250R, it looks like I am sponsered by DG, I have a DG radial head, boost bottle, headlight guard, old school DG exhaust, and now the swingarm.

I didn't plan on all of the DG parts, it just happened that way. I honestly was hoping for a Westcoast swingarm for my 1982 250R, but I'm guessing that won't be happening anytime soon. The DG fit the package in a good way, with all of the other DG parts.

$105 is a steal! I wouldn't sell mine for less than 3 times that.
I've got one for an '81. I'll take some photo's tomorrow and show the ad from '82 in 3 wheelin magazine. Mine, as I think all were, is +3" over stock. Mine isn't anodized like your is. Nice thing is their aluminum, not steel like a franks, westcoast and the others, AND not everyone else has one.

That swingarm is pretty trick. I like the different shock mounting positions on it. How many inches is it over stock?

Ok! After taking the photo's and looking in old magazine's... They were selling for $300 in '82. $479 with a Works shock (which I have).:naughty:

The swingarms does have 2 mounting holes and is 3" over stock.

Anyway, Here's the photo's:

Thanks, Big bore!:w00t: I was wondering if the grease fitting on mine was factory, or if someone put it there. But I see yours has it to, So I guess we can assume it to be factory. Probably less of these around, seeing how they were better than a hundred dollars more than the Westcoasts.

Almost forgot, nice "moon buggy" or whatever it is in the back ground. Would't mind taking that for a spin or two.:beer

Yea, I built that for my kids for Christmas last year. All aluminum uni-body. I put a briggs 6hp in it with a centrifugal clutch, the clutch lasted about 2 days. The kids smoked it. I bought a comet CVT for it and I just started working on it. The way I made the enclosed engine compartment is making it hard to fit the clutch assembly in. I was thinking about scraping the brigg and putting in a XR 70 or one of the Chinese 105cc motors, not sure? I bought a CNC plasma cutter 2 years ago and thought I would start using it. Petty cool to use. With my schedule it took a while to learn the programming.

i have an alluminum swingarm that looks real similar to that on mine how long is it overall ? I dont belive mine has a grease fitting though i will check next time i get down to my fathers and measure it. I didn't think it was the stock swinger when i bougt it? Never got a good look at a stock 82R so im still not sure of all the mods to my bike. Plan to get pictures of it on here soon.
