Does anyone here have the Titan 489 tire on the front of their machine? Any pro's or con's about it. I am asking because a local store has either the Titan 489 or a standard knobby in stock for a 23*8*11 tire. The price is the same as Rockmountainatv.com, but I wont get stuck with shipping, just local tax. The knobby is $35.00 and the 489 is $47.99.

If you have another tire suggestion then please let me know. I am looking for a tire that will bite, but also give a smooth ride when not in rough terrain.

Thanks in advance,
Dave

I run the stock Dunlop KT576 23/8/11 on mine because I like the Original look of the Dunlops

Everyone I know who has the 489 says that they will never go to another tire. It hooks up great in everything.

I went and checked out the 489's and they were not like the picture. The ones they had were more like mud tires. The thread was as aggressive as my SpiderTracs. The ST's do not offer a smooth ride on flat surfaces, so I could not see feeling the vibration from them all the time. I ordered a Dunlop KT576 from my local shop. I guess its considered a direct PEM replacment. $50.00 out the door and it will be here tomorrow.

Glad you found what you wanted. I now guys using the 489's on quads and they like them, but I dont care for a tire that hard. The tread is almost like a tractor pattern, and Ive never seen one on a trike, but they wouldnt be my first choice for a trike, and they look better suited to quad to me.
