tri z runs!

My 86 tri z 250 runs like mad! All the way it is hold on, then it happens- I get to almost top speed in 6th and the engine cuts out like it were running out of gas. As soon as it slows back past that top speed mark, it runs like a champ again. It is almost like it has a limiter on it. Any ideas?

Ive had similar problems before. If the main jet is too lean, it will do similar, but its more likely the floats are set too low. A half or 3/4 throttle plug check will tell. If plug looks lean, its jets, but if plug looks normal, its floats.

I had the same thing happen to me.Took me a some time to get it right .Sounds like you need to go up on the main jet .I went from a 330 to a 400 and that did the trick.Runs AWSOME now.:D

My Z did the same thing. Float level was too low in my case.

mine did the same thing at trike fest. the main was too big! so it could be that also, will act the same way. only at wot
