so... wich quad wheel will be the closest? if its just alittle off, wouldnt a couple of washers, or grinding solve the problem?

Theres a Polaris front wheel that is pretty close (4x166 instead of 4x170) but thats to much to "make fit" I have a lead on a place that has teh 10in 4x170s IN STOCK that I'm gonna give a ring monday. If they dont have any or cant get any quicker then Douglas I'm going to see about just placing a large order of 10in no offset wheels and custom drill them myself...I'll have a few spares and if anyone else needs one I can hook them up too.

The problem is that all of the quad front wheels are offset to protect the front brakes. Usually more than an inch. So that pretty much rules out any kind of spacer. Next you have the delima of having enough clearance to get the hub to fit. Mine was custom made and I still had to grind the hub and brake caliper. The other problem is that most quads run 5" front wheels and they are just too narrow. Just ask Virgil. His tire is major skinny and pushes.

The best bet is the old Quad racer front wheels with the 4x166 pattern. Cut two in half, then weld the wide parts back together to make a nice rim. That's what Jason Hall did on his kids R. You'll still have some major fab to do.

Derrick, so you think the main issue is the offset instead of the drilling? That would make more sense on the cost and wait. Wouldn't take 5 minuts to drill the rim if you had a template setup for it. I'm gonna check out that one place I mentioned and if they dont have any I'm gonna give Douglas a call and see what they have or can do without waiting 3 months...

true that, but good point the quads front wheels are skinny so you would have a skinnyer tire, and that wouldnt work that well hmmmm... whats the deal with putting a tri-z front wheel on? major mods or easy swap, becouse I'll pick up a tri-z setup tomoorow if thats the case...

I located a place that can get a 10inch diameter 8inch wide Douglas wheel with no offset. I dont know what the bolt pattern is and dont care. I measured a couple rims I had up in the barn and 8inch looks to be wide to make work. Hopefully they can find something a little more narrow...

Derrick, do you think there would be problems mounting/keep the tire seated if I were to use a 10x5? It would probably still fit a 7inch wide tire OK I'm thinking. Still nothing in the selection of that size that is a center offset from what I can see though. Damn maybe I'll have to end up making an offset hub or something like the ones you can get from missle engineering...Wouldn't be that hard to make I dont think other then keeping everything trued while and after it was welded. Thanks for the help so far, hopefully I can get something simple figured out and pass it on to you guys too :)
