250r spark problems?

I have found a realy good lead on a air colled R the owner says there is alot of compression but no spark. Also there are no borken wires. Are there common problems on those air cooled r's like bad stator coil something like that?

buy a test light and kick it over and check the stater wires comeing from it up
if there is power, it might be in the cdi box -or coil
