It was parked about 8 years ago running. New tires all around with one ride on them 8 years ago.

recoil wont recoil, has compression, looks like it will clean up al right, theres no cracks in the plastic.

You actually think I thought it was mint? Hahaha. This thing is a POS right now. Im going to clean it up a bit, nothing much though. Its still going to be a POS.
That isnt the same headlight as I have on mine. Mine has a red light on it, any one know what that would be for? I can get a pic.

The red light is oil level for the two stroke resevoir. It lights up for 15 seconds for bulb check--- then it works off a float in the oil tank.- The piece with the light on it --Yamaha calls this an" instrument panel" and it should also have the choke cable bolted to it. It stays on the steering shaft and the headlight cover slides over it, So "MEAT BOX's " part is correct. What year is that again????

I think its an 81, thats what the guy who gave it to me said.

I need a recoil, or just the guts. Mine is seized.

I did some work on it tonite. Pressure washed it, cleaned the carb, changed the oil. I added some gas and it leaked out of the petcock, found out im missing an o ring. and It leaked from the carb, the gasket is bad.

It has nice blue spark even with the 8 year old plug. The compression seems good too.

Do you guys usually plug off your oil injection and mix?

What are the first 3 digits of the vin.?

Mine oil pump still works so I use it, but I still dump a mouthful of oil in the tank for insurance.
