A CAR BATTERY? They put out like 600-800 amps, how the hell can a little starter handle that many amps? I know the battery that goes to my YTM200 is a 12V 14amp....I don't see how you can put a car battery on these lil suckers.....

sorry, a car bat is only 30 amps. it blows the fuse tho. and if your battery is 14 amp. it would blow the fuse. usually they are only 7 -10 amp. the fuse is 10 amp

Why does a battery say 600 amps on it then? And the correct battery for a 1983 YTM200EK is a YB-12-14 or some crazy numbers like that, plus my old battery, stock, said 12 volt 14 amp.

The batteries have 600 cold cranking amps. That means it has 600 amps available when it's cold. If it used all 600 amps at once the battery would only last a second or 2.

I used a large deep cycle battery on a 4 wheeler for a long time with no problem. One thing about it It never went dead. It has around 1000 or so reserve amps. I have done this many of times over many years and never have had a problem hurting starters. I even bought a 250sx years ago that the guy put a car battery box and battery on the rear rack. He ran it that way for at least 6 years. He sold it to me when the rear end went out.

the bank wants you to tiltle every transportation thing in your area. for me, they wont let me set up an account, or get any benefits without titling everything. yes, car batteries have COLD CRANKING AMPS. it so you can get the starter motor turned over very quikly, when it is very cold. it is only used until the motor gets going again, so it isn't all used up. your battery could be a 14 amp, but mine is 7. i can only use a 7 because my fuse is at 10 amp
