I have a 350X engine in a 250R frame (bought from on here). After spending the last few days going over the bike and fixing stuff I didn't like, I took it on its maiden voyage today. I was impressed by the power out of a smaller engine, and enjoyed the 6 speed tranny vs. most bikes 5 speeds. However, I have a couple questions.

First, what is the spring loaded cable lever for that sits above the kickstarter?

Second, what is the deal with the decompression lever? My ride was cut short due to the header getting an oil bath from what I suspect is the decompression lever. When I looked at it, it was almost all of the way out. I was able to pull it out of the head tonight when looking at it. Is there a blockoff plate made for this, or what do I need to do to keep this from leaking anymore?

This first pic is the area with the lever removed. The 2nd pic is with it in, a pic I took out on the trail.

Just to Update this thread: We have explained the problem and how to fix it in chat.
The problem is a missing dowel and possibly a bad seal.
