can i take off a old tire by splitting the rims then put the rims in the new tire and bolt it back toghther?

if you have a split rim yea i would think so. if you have a solid rim then your in for a real pain in the butt.

you should be able to get them off quick. do what you said then if that dont work carefuly use big screw drivers and pry them off the rims. you could also use a rubber hammer to break the beeds loose. dont lose the seal that goes inbetween the two halfs of the rim.
