The big red hitches do fit the SX fine. But I believe that the original SX hitches are slightly shorter than the big red ones:idea: Anyone else noticed that?

I think the Big Red hitches and the Fourtraxs hitches were longer than the SX hitch due to the 25 inch tires on those machines. The SX only had 22.

Got any pics of your hitch? Or could you measure how far off the ground the hit lowest part of hitch sits? Sold a guy a hitch for his SX, and we think it maybe for a big red. I never knew of a difference and many people say they are the same, trying to figure this out

No I sold an original hitch to a guy assuming factory hitches for an SX and a Big Red are the same. He is disappointed that it sits only 5 inches off the ground on an 86 SX.

The reason I asked for pics or a measurement is I am trying to confirm whether there are two style hitches.

If I mistakenly sold him a big red hitch instead of an SX hitch then I should make it right and give him his money back. After I offered to refund, he mentions it cost him $5 for paint and $10 on special hardware.....I am not sure if he is joking about special hardware?

Also not sure I need to lose $15 bucks to cover money he spent before he even knew if it was going to be to his liking. Maybe have mocked it up before painting and buying mounting hardware...

My sx hitch is ridiculously low. It's a factory hitch. Pretty worthless for a trailer with a jack hanging down.

The other way to tell the difference between the SX hitch, and the ES hitch besides the length is that the ES hitch has the 3 rows of lines on the underside. The SX hitch does not, and has a whole on the underside.262314262315262316262317
