79 vs 81

My son has a 1979 110 that will run circles around my 81 110. His bike has alot more compression than mine. When you pull his recoil it will pull your arm real good. Mine is pretty easy to pull. My bike does not smoke, use oil or run bad. What do I need to do make my bike run as strong as his?

he is alot lighter than you, thats probably the issue

This is his son. I am actually only about 10-15 pounds lighter than my dad. The 79 definetly has a lot more power than the 81, but we can't figure out whats causing it.
