Is it possible to straighten a slightly bent axle? A buddy has a press(not sure what kind & how good he is at pressing axles) & I gave him a fork to straighten, &it worked great, then I gave him my rear axle to press out, but he said he couldn't do it. Are there presses out there, like maybe at an auto shop, that can straighten my axle? Am I wasting my time, or should I try & get a new axle(I'm very, very poor right now)?
any good automotive machine shop should be able to do this for you. i have had a few done thru them and it is usually around 20-40 dollars to do it. any local cycle shop can do it for the same price. just dont go to the stealership.the machine shop does good work on my axles. break out the yellow pages and call around.there is also a guy in the back of Dirt Wheels ads that does it, but by time you ship it it will cost way more.

Who is "my cycle?" If you have a bent axle(mine was not too bad, i think the guy said it was out 140thousandths), I'd say start looking up machine shops in your area(Stay away from the Stealers). That's what I did, & I lucked out, I spoze, cuz they weren't too busy, & when they heard it was a trike axle, well everyone in the shop came over & started talikng aboot there experiences back in the eighties w/ trikes, & before I knew it, I was outta there, w/ a straight axle!
