Alright guys, I am in the middle of reassembling my 200X and I got a couple other engines with the X engine that were all mixed and matched around. For example, could have a auto clutch bottom end, 200X cylinder, 200S head, etc. Well i think i at least got the X straightened out. Here is a pic, please let me know if it looks like a complete X engine, not an inbreed. :D

Ok, now I am also wondering how i can identify my two other engine parts. Does every 185/200 besides the X use the same cylinder and head/ valve cover combo? What about the piston? Lastly how are the bottom ends different and can i use a sprocket shaft from one of the autos on my X? Here are the pics. Thanks for any help.

the x motor looks like the right one.( all the right parts) I would tighten your clutch cable and add some motor mounts before riding.

Yep, the engine in the bike is all 200X, the other parts are all from a 185 or 200 auto. Notice how the cooling fins are the same size as the head on the X and the cyclinder fins on a auto 200 are much smaller. also the fins on a 200X head are filed and unpainted.

*This is general so if you have a specific interchangability question please ask.*

Does every 185/200 besides the X use the same cylinder and head/ valve cover combo?

Basicaly yes. I think the porting on all non-X models are the same and they shair the same cam the diference is the decompression lever. The "S" models have a automatic release from a cable that attaches to the pull starter where the other non-X models have a lever you flip by hand. The cam for the 200x is different, it has a different amount of lift and a little different timing.

What about the piston?

All non-X 200 use the same pistons and the 185/185s use a smaller piston. The X has a different piston then them all, the difference is the compression ratio. The X piston has a flat top where the non-X models are slightly concaved. The pistons are interchangable.

Lastly how are the bottom ends different and can i use a sprocket shaft from one of the autos on my X?

The non-X botom ends differ a lot with the X and there are not too many parts you can swap around including the sprocket shaft (yeah I had to replace mine too). The 185/185s/200/200s are all the same (maybe something very minor different but you get the picture). The 200m has electric start. The 200e has e-start and a hi/lo trany And the 200es has the e-start, hi/lo, and is shaft drive.
