Ok i went out riding today after i ordered the pipe... stoped after about 10 minutes cause i heard that my exhaust was making a really low noise... the whole damn muffler was gone... only the header pipe was there... i kicked it into nuetral and rolled all the way home... My question is, i know i can burn a valve, but how do i know if i did or if anything is wrong already?

ive ran for hours and hours with no muffler. Honestly i think that the bending a valve is bs. The theory is that the cold air is sucked back in and when the cold air hits the valve it bends it. Ive ran several of my bikes with no headpipe for minutes and never a problem. So if you have any head pipe there its going to stop the cold air from travinling in that far. I would be more worried about running lean than a valve. For the second that you say you ran it there would be no damage

if the head pipe and the muffler are bigger and free'er(sp) flowing you will have to re jet. nothing more than one or two above stock

It's not very loud but i would definately say it's not quiet. I love the tone of it, a lot better than stock. I like it so far... the only thing is that it sticks out farther than my grab bar, and when i looped out shifting to fourth in a wheelie, it drug and bent the little lip thing on the muffler...no big deal though you can hardly tell. Ill take some pics and post them asap.
Alright I'll find some time during the week and rejet sometime...

yes you should re-jet that bike, just the main jet,get 1 and 2 sizes bigger, and go from there. You will notice the power with that pipe and re-jet.And running without a silencer will run it leaner than normal, but wont hurt it,unless you running wide open all the time!! Plus you gain low end power!!

Ok the 86 200x came with a 24mm keihin stock. I don't fully understand what jets to get, since i dont know whats in it now. At bikebandit I am looking at the keihin jet kits under main jet, but dont know what size? Any help would be appreciated:wondering http://www.bikebandit.com/partsbandit/productlist~section_dept_id~1151496~terrain_dept_i d~1153788~cat_dept_id~1230796~product_dept_id~1230 913~selection_Path~3.asp

You have to get the old one out,its stamped with a #.Its alot easier than you might think.Once youve done it,then its a 5 miniute job,if that!!

Incorrect, with a 4 stroke the less backpressure the more top end. The more backpressure the more torque. I have 2 well built X's one has a huge carb big porting cam all that suff, the other is a smaller carb enclosed airbox, supertrapp with little discs and the torque on that baby is AMAZING.
