help identify yamaha size???

My buddy just gave me a trike and I am not sure one the size. He told me it might be a 250 or 350. I am not sure. It has not plastic at all. The front forks where big, like for 22x12 tires. They are shot. The engine looks a little bigger than a 200, which is what I have. It is all electric, shaft drive. But it does have a rear shock? That is all that is on the trike. Enigne is all there, but no seat, plastic, take that back, it has one headlight up front. I know this is a long shot, but you guys can firgure this out.:beer

Check on either side of the cylinder, towards the bottom. The displacement in cc's should be stamped on a little flat spot. It probably won't be exactly "250" or "350" or whatever, but it will be in the ballpark. For example, the ytm 200 has a stamp "196" cm. Once you locate this, you'll at least know what size you have.
Better yet, there should be a sticker or plate of some sort on the frame where the front forks go through that should tell you the year and model of the trike, that is if it hasn't been scratced off. You may even have a 225. I think they have a rear shock with shaft drive. Hope this helps.

If it has rear suspension and is shaft drive then it is a 225cc trike, a YTM225 DX or a YTM225 DR, the DR has reverse too.

I know for sure it is not a 200e. I have a 200 and a 200e. I think it is going to be the 225dx. It does not have reverse. Also the frame going down from the next is split with two bars, not one like the 200's have. I dont know if that help's much either. I am just wondering a ballpark firgure it would cost to rebuild the engine and get her back to running. Not like I dont have enough on my hands. I am already having to rebuild the 200e.

If it is definatly a Yamaha and got rear suspension, and a four stroke motor (Air Cooled) it is a 225!

First three digits are:JY3, I found a sticker on the frame that says it is a 1985.

Nope, won't fit without some major work. Depending on what it needs Several parts from the 200 will interchange with the 225.
