atc 70/90 quick question

I'm just finishing my atc 70 with a ct90 engine in it but upon riding it round, its a bit lumpy, and the engine occassionaly fades away losing power. I've tried adjusting the idol screwbut its not had much if any effect. My thoughts are that because it has no air filter, the carb is probably in need of a clean. Would this make it run better? How would i go about cleaning the carb? Thanks

I sorted the problem, the fuel tank cap wasnt venting properly. Can someone please explain how to use the on/off control on the gas tank lid, i can work it out. cheers
