Did the 85 and 86 Tri-z's have different front hubs? I have 2 85 Tri-z's and each one has a different front hub. They are identical in looks, but the bolt spacing for the rim is different and one hub is wider by about 3/4".

I hadn't ever thought of it but the 86 had a different raked front end and the forks were also larger then the 85. I dont think I've ever heard of them being different before but it seems like a possibility. Interesting.

Yeah, I bought both Tri-z's recently and one was hodge podged together. The front hubs look identical except for the dimensions. Maybe somebody can give me some measurements off an 86 hub?

iv'e never seen any diff. between the two .. it's 205 mm across stud to stud..i have put a TRI-Z Front wheel on the ATC's before..i wonder if somebody put the ATC on the TRI-Z ? are both rims 12" ?

Ok, I just did a cross reference on the hubs from an 85 to an 86. They are different part numbers. So maybe one is an 85 and one is an 86? I'll have to measure the rims when I get home later also.

They've been the same on my 85's and 86's. I'm with Yamahondaman, the smaller one is probably an 85-86R front hub.

Thanks Bryan!! Apparently the last owner got a different hub from something else. It looks real similar, but the dimensions are off.
